‘P.S. I Love You’ Review

Oh what a sappy movie!  Of course that’s my favorite kind and of course it had it’s problems.  For example, it seemed to be a bit contrived to get the story line right and the beginning lasts longer than I think it should.  They were probably reasoning that you need to have time to get attached to the husband before they kill him off so you feel bad when he dies, but I didn’t anyway.  (What does that say about me, I wonder.)  When Holly (the wife and the main character) sees her sister at the funeral, I began to see another problem with the movie – I can’t stand the acting of the sister.  Her brother in law has died and all she ever does is grin from ear to ear and blurt out over the top chipper lines.  I didn’t get the feeling it was supposed to be that way and I cringed each time she opened her mouth.

If you like the guy who played Denny Duquette on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, you should see  this movie because you get to see him try on an Irish accent.  While you’re there, try to pick Spike from ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ out of the cast – surprisingly hard to do when he doesn’t have white hair.
