Life Insurance

Posted on Tuesday 11 November 2008

Just had a bit of an inspiration. Shouldn’t life insurance really be called ‘death insurance’. Like fire or flood insurance is for fires or floods.

Anyway, even in these unique economic times, and everyone is looking to save bit here and there, life insurance is one place that you should not cut out. You may be able to save some money by researching different companies and options and life insurance rates, but definitely don’t cancel it.

Heating Blanket

Posted on Sunday 9 November 2008

It’s sometimes amazing how you can come across exactly what you need on the internet.

Earlier this year, my car burned to the ground and (ironically) took my heating blanket with it. Just today I came across a site that sells all sorts of items like my new electric blanket, but also many types of heated gloves, towel warmers, and other heated clothing.

Airtools

Posted on Sunday 9 November 2008

There comes a point in the life of every garage or tool shed that it comes to desire air tools. No more charging of batteries or plugging in to electrical power. A central air compressor will supply the needed power to a large number of common garage tools including grinders, cutters, drills, and sanders. Make sure that you get the best deal possible on your air tools, and I’m sure that you can still get good deals on your cordless and electric power tools, too.

Dollhouses

Posted on Saturday 8 November 2008

You never really realize how many different types of dollhouses there are out in the market until you have a little girl. Really. You can find your plastic franchise type dollhouses at just about any major toy store, but did you know that you can still find the classic style wooden dollhouses too? Colonial dollhouses, farmhouse dollhouses, log cabin Adirondack dollhouses, and even lighthouse dollhouses.

Make Over Shows

Posted on Monday 6 October 2008

While our house was on the market, I couldn’t stand watching those home makeover shows because I would always worry that what we had done to our house wasn’t the right stuff to do. Now that we’ve sold I’ve been able to go back to watching. I’m loving picking out the perfect Delta faucets for what I imagine our sinks will look like in our new master bathroom when we buy another house. And I love knowing that granite is on its way out so I won’t have to worry about affording that the next time.

I need a program that lets me build my own home virtually. I’ll skip the wiring and plumbing part and go straight to the decorating and installing fixtures part.

Teacher Gifts

Posted on Monday 6 October 2008

Now that my kids are in school, I have to worry about all sorts of things.  Are they going to be on time?  Are they clean enough?  Is their homework done?  And of course, What am I going to get their teachers for Christmas?

When I was a kid we didn’t tip the paper boy and we picked up our own milk so we didn’t tip the milk man but we did send a gift to the teacher each year at Christmas so I know it is basically a requirement.  My mom would bake banana bread or make cookies or create elaborate gift baskets for each of our 7 teachers.  I remember a late night dash to the store to buy more cellophane paper to wrap the baskets in.

To be honest, I don’t even remember what I got for my son’s teacher last year.  I got a bit fed up when I got a note from a parent at the end of the year asking for donations to an end of year gift as well.  I’d done my duty and I have enough bills to pay without donating to an end of year cause.  (I felt a little cranky about it.)

I never thought I’d reach the point at Christmas where it was a real possibility that I might forget somebody, but now I think I have.

Tactical gear

Posted on Saturday 6 September 2008

A new wave of game sweeping across the world with similarities to both paintball and first person shooter games is Airsoft. As opposed to paintball shooting large balls of paint using guns unlike any actual gun, Airsoft involves shooting low caliber plastic BBs launched with compressed air. The great part is that you can get guns look like actual military hardware. For all of the rest of the tactical gear that you need to complete the look and feel of actual combat make sure that you get a good deal on quality and authentic stuff.

Birthday toys

Posted on Saturday 12 July 2008

There are no other kind of toys like birthday toys. It seems that the best toys that I ever had growing up were always the ones that I got on my birthday. I can remember what I got at many of my birthdays, but not so much the toys I got for Christmas. With my own kids’ birthdays coming up, I need to find the memorable toys that they will remember after they’re all grown up. The internet comes to my rescue again.

Stylish pocket watch

Posted on Saturday 12 July 2008

Nothing says style like a tuxedo, and no form of time measurement is more stylish than a pocket watch. Especially the cool ones on this site for new pocket watches. I prefer the one where the interior is exposed to watch all of the intricate movements that keep the time. Next time you dress up, don’t be late, and don’t forget your pocket watch.

Label Liquidators

Posted on Sunday 29 June 2008

What a coincidence. I was just resetting some label makers to factory presets the other day. And it just so happens that my label printer is out of paper. Thermal labels are the kind that uses heat to actually make the characters on your label. We personally have a Zebra label printer for barcodes, and this site has the perfect labels just for the printer that we have. I’m sure that they also have the labels for whatever use you could need.
