OUCH!

Thursday, July 8th, 2010

I just got stabbed by the cheap peeling laminate on my ‘all wood’ bed.  Who knew that ‘all paper’ counts as ‘all wood’.  I suppose it makes sense when you think about it, but I was really hoping for something made of pine.  Or something in a renewable bamboo.  What I got was four sheets of paper glued together.  We have, over time added a few screws for good measure.  Or really just to keep us alive since it has been known to collapse on us in the middle of the night.  IT would seem that when I roll over, I do it in a very heavy way.

The Other Story

Thursday, July 8th, 2010

As I mentioned, the fact that my husband has been out of it for several days is another story and here that story is.  We rented our old house.  It had grout.  The grout was dirty.  He tried to clean the grout so we could get our deposit back.   He did this for 8 hours.  On his knees. With no knee pads.

When he got home, he couldn’t walk.  By the next day they hurt so much he couldn’t get out of bed.  Then they started to form pustules.  He popped a couple but they kept coming.  By the next day he was in enough pain to call the on call nurse.  She said 2 days bed rest and aspirin.   The next day the pustules started to ooze and it became apparent that each pustule was connected to the others because he could push on one and have gunk ooze out another on the other side of the knee.  It looked like John Cusack after he gets radiation poisoning in ‘Fat Man Little Boy’, just very localized.  The forth day wasn’t much better but he started popping the little buggers more because the pressure was so much.  FINALLY on the fifth day, he started to turn a corner and made it up and down the stairs in less than 10 minutes.  If you touch his knee it still hurts a lot though.  The bruises are diminishing and he’s able to sleep better than before.  He still walks kinda funny though – like he’s saddle sore.

Diagnosis, me?  Pressure sores or chemical burns.  I’m leaning toward chemical burns but can’t find any good pictures to confirm.

Treadmill Requires More Coordination

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

I watched several minutes of ‘Live with Regis and Kelly’ for the first time in years and happened to catch the interview with one of the actors from Twilight.  She said that she watches the show but can’t do it on a treadmill – only when she’s on the elliptical machines.  I’ve tried both and I can’t quite figure out what makes the treadmill harder except perhaps the fact that you’ve holing onto something with the elliptical.  Even so I think I remember a place to put the hands on the treadmill.  (Let’s face it — it’s been a good long time so I might be remembering wrong.)

Lesson Learned

Monday, June 14th, 2010

It’s been a while so I suppose I should head in for a physical.  You know, now that I’m in the worst shape of my life.  I could spend some time before hand trying to improve my physique by just doing general exercise.  But I’m more the kind of person who just likes to game the system.  So instead of working hard every day, I think I’ll just find out what tests they will be performing and train in those ‘events’.

They want me to run 5 minutes on a tread mill?  That’s what I’ll do-  5 minutes each day for a month.  I’ll be the fastest person to run 5 minutes but at 5:01 I’ll pass out from fatigue.

They want me to blow into a spirometer?  I’ll get my own spirometers in all shapes and colors and start practicing my huffing skills.

You get the picture.  Just enough so I can get an A on the test while still having no real knowledge at all.  That’s what I learned in school.

Cancer Causing Agent

Saturday, June 12th, 2010

Smoking is the most common cause of lung cancer but it’s not the only cause.   Asbestos cancer is also a prevalent form and results from breathing in asbestos.  That’s why it is so very important to be wearing the proper breathing  apparatus when dealing with the substance.   Sometimes people who know that asbestos can cause cancer don’t know where it occurs in the home.  It can be in insulation, in your ceiling and even in your tiles.  Always use caution when removing these items from the home and know that even if it costs more now, it’s far better than the possibility of a death sentence later.

Presidential Fitness Test

Saturday, June 5th, 2010

I have become a fat burner. My oldest didn’t pass the Presidential Fitness test last year and I’ll be DAMNED if MY kid flunks a test, I don’t care what kind it is. Sure, you have to get into the 85th percentile which in many circles is considered a B but he couldn’t do any pull ups.

I blame myself, really. He hears my story about the presidential fitness test from when I was young and how they gave me 1 second on the flexed arm hang even though it was a total lie – I wasn’t up there for even half that time.

So now every morning, he and his brother and I go through the events of the test, practicing. He’s gone from 2 situps in a minute to 12 in just one week – it’s really been a matter of him finding his abdominal muscles. His little brother is trouncing us in that department. We also run around the house a bunch of times to simulate the long distance portion – he does 11 laps and I do 22. Of course that’s where my fat burning comes in and, though I don’t actually run the whole thing (because I don’t want to pass out, throw up and die) I have improved my time by a full minute and so has he. He’s blowing us out of the water on push ups and my bendy daughter walks in from time to time to school us in the v sit and stretch.

They’ll never beat me in the shuttle run, though. I’ve gotten down to 12 seconds and even though they’ve improved, I just don’t think they take it seriously enough. For me, this event is do or die – I have to beat them at something.

No more Acne

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

Acne must be one of God’s biggest jokes on the adolescent masses. Where exactly did this affliction come from? I’ve never seen any other animal with giant, white, pus-filled growths on their face. Well, thankfully there is modern technology to save us from this affliction of the modern world. We really should be grateful that we’re worrying about acne instead of more serious, life-threatening conditions. Talk to your doctor about pronexin to see if it’s what you need to clear your face of unsightly dots.

Diet Blast

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

Having a blast on your new diet? Probably not. Diets are not the most fun part of living in the modern era. But you should make sure that your diet is getting you all the results that you want it to. If you talk to your doctor about your health, research some hcg diet protocol, and get an appropriate amount of exercise, then you can be trim and fit with all the energy that you want. It doesn’t take a fancy meal plan to shed those pounds, just eat healthier foods in smaller portions.

Hello Tosis

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

Shouldn’t we all be able to smell our breath. I mean, our nose is right there. It’s just hanging out right on top of the mouth. It’s even pointed in the general direction of the mouth. The mouth is even blowing out air about half the time. So if you have some really bad breath, you should be able to smell it. If your friend has let you know that you have bad breath, you can go online for some bad breath treatments.

Skin Care

Friday, May 28th, 2010

As skin non-lethal skin conditions go, eczema may be one of the saddest. It can effect any one of any age and tends to last a long time. It can’t be taken care of through plastic surgery and for some, it is a lifetime of struggling to find a good treatment for it. Some treatments have side effects that are intolerable for the patient. Some patients don’t care about the side effects because the condition is intolerable. Getting help from a qualified dermatologist can help answer questions quickly.

I’m Don’t Know How to Be a Pill Popper

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

I read recently that they (you know, THEM) are saying all newborns should be getting Vitamin D supplements. Apparently breast is best but not enough. And this is kinda what worries me about the whole pill thing. From prenatal vitamins to postnatal vitamins to a pill a day from birth to death, for everything from zits to cancer, I don’t think this can be good. It’s freaky to think that even healthy people are thought to need more than what they are getting. That the ideal amount cannot be achieved in anyway other than through a pill.

I’m just freaking out I guess.

Probably because I’m going to die because I’m incapable of remembering to take a pill every day.

Pill Review Popping

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

I’ve been seeing new ads for alli and have become interested enough to consider reading some alli reviews. I haven’t gone all the way yet and I still don’t feel to good about the idea of taking drugs to lose weight (it’s creepy to think about it in my opinion) but I suppose under the care of a physician, this sort of thing might work well for many people.

Fast and Fit

Sunday, May 16th, 2010

The quickest way to lose weight is to make yourself as quick as possible. Run fast and lose weight fast. Pretty cool method of quick weight loss, huh. Now for some people, it may be appropriate to supplement your diet or to find a substance that helps the weight run away. Finding a web site that has a lot of information about everything that you’re wondering about is possible if you know where to go. Check it out to see if the answers to your questions are there.

Side Effects

Sunday, May 16th, 2010

With all of the pills that have been discussed on this site and others around the web for the past few years, you may be fed up with hearing about all of the side effects. Well, pay attention, because these things can be serious. The important thing is to check what the clinislim side effects and other medication side effects are and if you’re specifically susceptible to these problems. Check with your doctor to see if there might be problems.

Zits be GONE

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

While we may accept a strange and discoloring fungus growing on many parts of our bodies, said fungus growing on our face must be eradicated. There are many commercials for the treatment for acne, and you may have even tried a few of them. While some are too harsh and others don’t seem to have any effect, there are products out there that work. After speaking to a dermatologist, you can probably find the proper treatment for your face fungus on an online site for a cheaper price than your local drug shoppe.

More weight pills

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

Like I’ve said before, there seems to be no end to the number of different ways you can lose the weight. Lipofuze is another of the new methods that you can try out if it’s right for you. With a combination of multiple different weight lose compounds, this could be just the thing for you to combine with eating less and exercising more. Pretty soon you’ll be seeing less of yourself in the mirror. And that’s a good thing.

HGH and Stuff

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

We’ve all heard about the problems that those baseball players have had in recent years after bulking up to mammoth proportions through the use of HGH. Human growth hormone through injection is just not a good idea for many different reasons. Now on the market are pills that are supposed to cause your body to release more of the HGH that you already release, called hgh releasers. You should still seek the advice of a medical professional before taking any substance that you find online. Do your research and talk to your doc!

Supplement reviews

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

In addition to all of the new fads in the weight loss world including equipment, food, and such (see below post), there is a huge market of diet supplements that are available to help in your battle of the bulge. To get really good diet supplement reviews of all of these products, find a good website that includes great information on each of these products, what the benefits of each are, and which are right for you.

Diet Pill P

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

There is a huge market nowadays for all things diet. Diet food, exercise equipment, and diet programs are everywhere, but diet pills are getting more and more popular as well. With so many different options on the market, and so many different varieties from each company, it could be difficult to keep track of what does what and how well it works for you. If you have any questions about adipex p or any other diet pill, do your research online and find out all you can about what you are going to use to lose all that weight.

Title Me Pink

Monday, April 19th, 2010

Oh the dreaded blackheads.  Unlike a normal zit that will go away at some point (probably), the blackhead can linger for years.  So you try scrubs and creams and all sorts of laser derm ablasion or whatever that procedure  is called and it does no good.  So you wrap your arms around your face and try to get rid of it from 18 different directions while looking in the mirror and it’s then that you see the 1000 other blackheads that you would never have noticed if you had just left the first one alone.  And you cry in dispari.

What’s that you say?  You don’t.  That’s just me you say.

Oh.

Well of course I don’t do that – I saw it on TV or I read it in a book but I don’t do that.

I’m going to go away now.
