The Possibilities of a Cruise

Friday, July 17th, 2009

Cruises are a fun way to get away from it all and see a lot of sights.  Instead of having to fill up the car with a month’s worth of clothes and supplies so you can travel from place to place, you get to skip the supplies and extra clothes and take your hotel with you.

Imagine getting to see the wide open ocean and beautiful coastlines.  Imagine pulling into ports at exitic island locations that you never even dreamed of visiting.  Imagine not having to drive for hours on end but instead be able to play, eat, sleep, feel the sea breeze blowing in your face instead.

From a more practical point of view, you won’t get DVT on a cruise.

Harry Potter the VI

I’m Harry the sixth I am! Harry the sixth I am, I am!

Yes, I liked the movie.  Our Lawful Good main character and his fellow Lawful Good comrads once again take on the forces of Chaotic Evil and manage to come out ahead.  None of us doubted that they would but you never know – “Cheaper By the Dozen” the movie doesn’t go quite like I remember it in the book.

In the run up to the release for this movie, I kept hearing Daniel Radcliff talking in interviews about how much better everyone’s acting had become.  Boy was he right!  But not only that – the scoring is better, the script is better and the special effects are better.  The score was helped by the fact that there were some tender moments in the movie that deserved subtler music which helped change the pace from previous movies that just required epic loud music or abject tragedy music.

So am I recommending this movie?  Of course – it’s good!

Although, I think I would have even if it stank.

What Kind of a Revolution is a Bob?

Friday, July 17th, 2009

I saw the words “Bob revolution” in  my travels across the internet today and was curious enough to find out what it referred to.  I initially thought it was a reference to that ad campaign from the latest presidential election but then remembered that was the Ron Paul revolution, not the Bob one.

Turns out it’s a stroller.  Bob products are baby products – mostly strollers but some diaper bags too.  They’re the three wheel kind that you can run cross country with or take into the store.

Not at all what I thought it would be.
