Vacation Time

Monday, February 25th, 2008

Spring break is coming up and I’m SOOOO looking forward to sleeping in. I’ve spent too many days getting up before the crack of dawn to get things done. Of course a vacation doesn’t just mean sleeping in – it means spending some time in the sun. Whether you want to improve your tan or enjoy the sun while blocking the rays, opotion.com has the sun care skin products you need.

They have spray on sunblock, lotion bronzer or any combination you can think of. They have products to protect your even your hair from the sun. If it’s your kids who are on spring break and you plan on spending some time with them at the beach, you can still get protection for their delicate skin. With Ocean Potion you can get that bronze look faster without spending as much time in the sun. It has an SPF of 4.

Once you’ve figured out what you need for your skin, try putting a little money in your pocket for your time away from home by entering their Spring Break Contest, the XTREME Spring Break Challenge. Make a video promoting their products and you could win $5000 or an XTREME Dream Vacation which includes airfare to and a stay in a hotel in Vegas (for two), fighter pilot training, a dune buggy excursion and more.

Stock Market Up

Monday, February 25th, 2008

I know the thing that makes the stock market fair is the fact that it is unpredictable.  Everyone has an even playing field as long as there’s no insider trading going on.  I certainly am not doing any of that but I’m still frustrated.  Why is the market going up when everyone KNOWS we’re in a recession.  That is if you don’t include the Fed.

Business Considerations

Monday, February 25th, 2008

It doesn’t take long after you’ve decided to start a business to realize the extreme complexity of it.  What will you sell?  Will you have a store front or an on-line business?  How will you accept payment? You might suppose that to make the implementation of your business plan go smoothly, you must be very detailed and you would be right.

It is best to have as clear a picture as possible ahead of time.  In a store front, you must determine what kind of equipment you will need and figure out how you will pay for it from the shelving to the credit card machines to the lock on the door.  Research is necessary for each of these items but can all be generally done on the internet.

In an internet business, you will still need to consider how you will accept payment and in what forms.  Accepting checks carries a certain risk but credit card transactions can cut into the bottom line.  Keep in mind that you whatever decisions you make, you will want the result to be that your business runs efficiently so that later you don’t have to revamp in a cost-saving effort.

Being customer friendly will play a big role in getting repeat business.   Having the right software for your website or for making your payment system run smoothly is an additional consideration.

These kinds of details are the ones that are hardest to think of when you are new to business ownership.  You may wish to consider finding a fellow business owner who has already answered them can be like adding a priceless resource to your plan.  Networking can also help you find leads in your chosen business category.

Whatever your business, please make every effort to consider the options available to you and do the proper research in order to achieve maximum return on your investments.

CAR FIRES EVERYWHERE

Monday, February 25th, 2008

I went to pick up my husband at work today and what should I pass, but a car fire. At first I thought it was just some crazy guy running into traffic. Turns out the crazy guy was trying to take a fire extinguisher across the street.

I probably should have told him it wasn’t going to work and that I know from recent personal experience.

Fortunately, I saw a fire truck getting there almost before I could get through the light so things probably had a happy ending (other than the car being wrecked).

Food Labels

Monday, February 25th, 2008

If you are in need of a food label for your business’ product, you can have them made for you.  You don’t need to go through the worry of how to make them on your at home printer and you have several options to choose from.  You can also have the nutrition label made for you.  These aren’t for the single can of preserves you made for personal use – they’re for business that need a quantity of them.
