Donations for charity work

Thursday, January 10th, 2008

It seems that almost every charity nowadays is asking you to donate your car to them so they can put the money to good use. One charity is also looking for people that have boats that they can donate to charity. The process is very similar to the one where you donate cars.

Car Angel uses both the car and boat donation to raise money for the children’s videos that they produce. The videos are free and they’ve given away millions of them. The money goes for a good cause, so look into it if you have an extra vehicle, be it for the land or sea.

Cloverfield buzz

Thursday, January 10th, 2008

I finally got into Lost and love it, but I never got a chance to see Mission Impossible 3, so I am a moderate fan of JJ Abrams. I am a little concerned about the new upcoming Star Trek movie but getting more and more excited about “Cloverfield”.

After Godzilla was such a bust almost ten years ago, I didn’t think that the giant monster movie could be anything other than cheap Japanese fun. I heard good things about “The Host” last year and was surprised at how well the giant monster genre could be adapted to such a quirky movie. “The Host” was dramatic, funny, suspenseful, exciting, and weird all at the same time.

The previews for “Cloverfield” are doing their job and getting me hyped about seeing the movie. It may not be opening night, but I do plan on making it the first film I see in the theaters this year.
