Drive to smile

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

As I’ve said before, I think that the first thing that we notice about each other is our smiles. They are just that important. Luckily, the technologies associated with making the smile more beautiful are continually advancing while at the same time becoming more affordable.

In San Diego the place to go to find the smile of your dreams is a short drive to the north to Encinitas. This San Diego cosmetic dentist offers all of the modern options you could need including veneers and teeth whitening. Most of these procedures can even be completed in just two visits, so you won’t have to keep going back on separate visits to get the job done. You can be enjoying life and your new smile sooner than you think.

The latest craze to hit the cosmetic dentistry scene are the Lumineers porcelain veneers. Normal veneers are somewhat invasive because part of the tooth structure needs to be removed. This new brand is so thin that nothing needs to be removed at all. It’s a great new technology that many in Hollywood and around the country are looking to have done.

Double overtime

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

What a night for sports in the A-Z!

Almost simultaneously, both the Arizona-Arizona St. game and the Suns-Pacers game went down to the wire. Both games were tied at the same time with less than two seconds to go in regulation. Both games went into overtime despite nail-biting last second efforts on each court.  I don’t think that the flashback button on my remote has gotten that much of a workout since last year’s famous switchback between Dirty Jobs and House.

In the end the good guys won, and all was right in the world. Go Suns. Go Sun Devils.

Emergency cash advance

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

There are at least a few times in everyone’s life when money is needed right away but is just not available. You can’t get a credit card and a bank loan will just take too long. For those moments there are many companies springing up all over the country and the web that offer a cash advance. Just make sure that you don’t get addicted to these ways to get emergency money, and always make good financial decisions.

Catchy jingles

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

If I were to live my entire life without hearing another commercial jingle, I would die a happy and sane man. Between the “Year End Car Deals” jingle and the “Free Credit Report” jingle, I feel like I want to reach through the radio, wrap my hands around the throat of whoever sings the song, and jingle their necks.

On the other hand, the dude that sings the “Real Men of Genius” commercials… kudos. We salute you, Mr. Real Men of Genius singer. May you go down in history as the king of clever one liners and not just the guy who sang all those “Rocky” songs. Because you, sir, truly have the eye of the tiger.

New Homes in Greenville, SC

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

This site offers information on new homes Greenville SC. It allows you to access to floor plans for homes offered throughout their communities and gives you other details for each option such as square footage and pricing. Although the web site is easy to use, some of the options told me I had compatibility problems with my version of Windows and said I had to upgrade but later they worked fine, so watch out for that issue. I always love looking at floor plans and elevation drawings so I can think about that dream house I’ll own one day. Pretty much all the floor plans on this site look like dream homes to me.

National Treasure Revisited

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

So did you see that ‘National Treasure: Book of Secrets’ is still doing realy well at the box office?   It grossed better than $20 million last weekend – all this after apparently being panned by the critics.  One article I read said movie goers are defying logic to go see this movie.  I’m going to tell you here and now that even with the post holiday dearth of decent movies, the only reason this movie is still on top is because of the Disney short at the opening that I mentioned in my earlier review of the film.  In the end, the blockbuster status should not be given to the movie, but to the short that precedes it.

Have a Budget?

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

I’ve been trying really hard to figure out a budget to live by and I’m really happy I have budget software to help me. I can’t even imagine what it is like for a person or a business to sit around and try to write up a new budget every year. I mean, I feel like what I’m dealing with alot of money and I don’t always know how it all evaporates so quickly so businesses must really feel the pressure to stick to a budget. If you don’t have some kind of way to track you money, you might consider getting some especially in honor of the fact that it’s tax season – it probably won’t help you with your 2007 taxes but you can get ready for next year.

‘P.S. I Love You’ Review

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

Oh what a sappy movie!  Of course that’s my favorite kind and of course it had it’s problems.  For example, it seemed to be a bit contrived to get the story line right and the beginning lasts longer than I think it should.  They were probably reasoning that you need to have time to get attached to the husband before they kill him off so you feel bad when he dies, but I didn’t anyway.  (What does that say about me, I wonder.)  When Holly (the wife and the main character) sees her sister at the funeral, I began to see another problem with the movie – I can’t stand the acting of the sister.  Her brother in law has died and all she ever does is grin from ear to ear and blurt out over the top chipper lines.  I didn’t get the feeling it was supposed to be that way and I cringed each time she opened her mouth.

If you like the guy who played Denny Duquette on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, you should see  this movie because you get to see him try on an Irish accent.  While you’re there, try to pick Spike from ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ out of the cast – surprisingly hard to do when he doesn’t have white hair.

Take a REAL Vacation

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

Getting away can be the perfect was to rejuvenate after the busy holiday season.  Don’t go visit people; don’t go to grab excitement on a roller coaster somewhere; go to relax and actually have a vacation that leaves you feeling rested. Pigeon Forge cabins offer a place for you to take such a respite from your stressful life.  Found in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, the cabins have views that are astonishing and being out of the smog filled urban area can do wonders for breathing fresh air into your life.

Kids’ Music – Trout Fishing in America

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

I picked up my second Trout Fishing in America CD recently.  They have some of the funniest songs ever on the first one I got (“Big Trouble”) and if you are a parent and you don’t own this CD I strongly encourage you to get it.  Maybe skip ‘The Cat Came Back’ for the really young ones unless you see the humor of having cat hair in ground meat but you’ll rip a gasket trying to sing along with ‘All I Want is a Proper Cup of Coffee’. ‘Pico de Gallo’ is a song that’s going to stick in your head – they manage to rhyme ‘pico de gallo’ with ‘Ontario’.  I could say something great about almost every song on the CD but I’ve got to save the highest praise for a life saving song called ‘Lullaby’.  It’s a beautiful lullaby that is like the baby whisperer I’ve always wanted.  Babies go from screaming at the top of their lungs to silent and calm the INSTANT the singing starts.  It’s shocking.  Of course then you have to play it over and over again until you come up with a better plan, but it really helps.
