Goths need love too

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007

So the typical online dating sites aren’t really for everyone. I doubt very much if many of today’s more alternative people are posting pictures on the more heavily advertised online dating sites.

So, as a public service for all of the insomniacs that love the night, here is a way to be a little less isolated.

This is currently the only website that I know of that caters specifically to Goth singles around the world. As far as I know, it’s the only website that caters specifically to Goths. I was really kind of impressed with the variety of people of all ages located just about everywhere from Scandinavia to South Carolina.

The Map Seeker page is a pretty handy tool to quickly find members signed up in your area, and I can almost guarantee that there’s somebody on this site in your area.

It’s really easy to find lots of pictures of just about anyone on the site and super user-friendly.

So if you like taking pictures of yourself that look like the cover for the next Evanescence album, and you’re single, this is the site for you.

Internet dating sites aren’t always about Harmony, sometimes things are more Goth.

Onslaught

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007

Ever want to find some way to waste about 5 hours.

The Tower Defense style of games have become more and more popular since their initial development from the Warcraft series.

Onslaught is a fun variant that allows you to combine the powers of the different towers to fend off the baddies for hours.

Just wanted to share with everyone out there what I’ve been doing for the past few hours.

Delightful Deliveries – Top 100

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007

I’ve never been very good at getting Christmas cards out to friends and family in time for Christmas, or in sending gift baskets to people that I won’t see over the holidays. Earlier in the year, I’m always putting stuff like that off because it’s not December yet, and I just can’t get into Christmas gift-buying mode until December. Once the holiday season finally rolls around, it’s usually too late to send out gifts to people across the country. It’s hard to find the time in such a busy season.

Hopefully, the Delightful Deliveries website can get me into proper holiday form with Gift Baskets for everyone. I was really amazed at the wide variety of gift baskets and items for everyone. Some of the pictures show gift baskets that appear to be quite large. I can already feel sympathy for the delivery guy that has to haul these impressive creations up multiple flights of stairs in the winter. I’ll try to stick to some of the smaller items to give those guys a break, but the Premium Gold Tower might just be too tempting

In addition to the tower of gold and all of the other holiday treats and goodies, the site also features plenty of other options for delivery gifts. They have a wide selection of ‘Get Well Soon’, ‘New Baby’, and ‘Happy Birthday’ gift baskets that can be given out all year.

If you’re out there and thinking about ordering something for me from this site, just remember that I’ve never been a big fan of coffee or cheesecake, but something that feeds ten or more would really hit the spot.

The press release below talks about their recent award in the Top 100 of online retailers. Such high praise gives me confidence that the gifts that I order this holiday season will be spectacular and arrive on time for Christmas.

Spidey 3

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007

Finally got to see Spider-man 3 last night, and was reasonably satisfied. I don’t get to see as many movies in the theaters anymore because of a growing family, but Spidey on the small screen was almost as good.

My first thought now as I think back on the film is, long. It was kind of long, and it seemed even longer because of the disjointed nature of all of the subplots. The movie focused so much of its time on the Peter/Mary Jane relationship, the new Goblin, and the Eddie subplot that when we occasionally got to see Sandman, it just didn’t seem to fit. I think it would have been a much stronger, tighter film without the Sandman.

He still looked cool, though.

New LLC’s

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007

Little did I know about all of the problems that come along with starting up a new business. Not only do you have to establish yourself, find customers, advertise, and not go broke in the process, but you also have to keep track of the regulations that govern your corporation, even if it’s just a corporation of one.

Along with all the glory, goes all the responsibility, right?

I’ve heard quite a few commercials on the radio for establishing a nevada corporation. I think that the idea is to ‘officially’ have your company exist in Nevada but conduct all of your business wherever you are. You know, no taxes in Nevada.

One of the problems that I’ve read about on the internet is keeping track of the minutes of the shareholders meetings. Evidently, the IRS wants to know what you talked about even if you’re the only shareholder. Luckily, there are sites that provide free forms for just such a situation. Similarly, they can also provide you a complete set of other documents for pretty cheap.

If you have no idea where to start with recording the shareholders’ meeting minutes, adopting company bylaws, or any of that other stuff that just gets in the way of running the company, give yourself a break and let someone else design the forms and documents.

Indiana Jones 4

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007

So I’ve seen some of the new rumors, spoilers, and gossip about the new Indiana Jones movie (with the unwieldy title of ‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’). And there is some persistent talk of the aliens from ‘Close Encounters’ showing up.

Huh?

Come on, Steve. Does Indy really need to deal with aliens. That’s Dreyfuss’s schtick. Let Indy deal with the Nazis.
